"At first, I felt like I was back in my own childhood experiencing Thanksgiving with family. The way the author uses descriptive language to draw on the emotions is pretty powerful. The first few pages were quite a tease that left me wanting more, especially with the way her little brother Billy reacted to the dropped stuffing. My biggest impression was the depth of richness, not only of the dishes, variety, quantity, but of the relatives and neighbors who partook. Delicious lessons!"
